The “Nice” List; upgrading everyday items for your loved ones this Holiday Season
We all have a fitness enthusiast on our nice list that we would love to dazzle this year and with the delicate nature of gift-giving we would never want to be the peloton husband. I give WONDERFUL gifts. Lately, I’ve been wildly practical as the holidays are the perfect time to replace any plastic in a loved one’s home with something less toxic. The season is far jollier if I am not heavy handed when attempting to remove heavy metals from my loved ones water supply, microplastics from their dental floss, or endocrine disrupters from their health and beauty aids.
If you ever want me to recommend equipment directly please email me at Stronger@sherlockfit.com and I will swiftly plot out your home gym with the same level of enthusiasm some women apply to their bridal pinterest boards.
These products might not be what they asked for but this is why I never ask. Last year my mom got the Hydroviv water filter, an absolute rockstar built for individual zip codes based on the Environmental Working Group’s tap water database(it is a horror show/nightmare) Mom loved the gift and I felt good giving it. From one control freak to another, match my freak and replace some of the toxic everyday items your loved ones are using. You get one mom, don’t let her burn toxic Yankee Candles you savage!
The human body is made up of about 50% to 75% water and doubt anyone needs another water bottle
Upgrade their water filter— I’ll happily roast your brita filter and your refill habits at a later date(wear a helmet) but Hydroviv is what I gave to my mom last Christmas. The filters are built based on your city’s water data (learn more about that here: https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/) https://www.hydroviv.com Most of the products listed in this guide
All I want for Christmas is for you to use less plastics. Americans Eat Up to 3.8 Million Bits of Plastic Each Year via Protein Alone (https://www.newsweek.com/americans-eat-microplastics-protein-pollution-1860227)
The Gift of Fragrance
Fragrance has been considered a luxurious and valuable gift for centuries, dating back to ancient civilizations where it was associated with royalty and divinity. You could risk it and buy the wrong scent but never the wrong size. Unfortunately most conventional fragrances can make luxury into yucky
Today, on average, over 95% of perfume formulations are composed of harmful synthetic chemicals and they often contain carcinogenic chemicals, respiratory irritants, neurotoxins, narcotics, hormone sensitizers, and many more.
Here’s a list of toxic chemicals that are often used in synthetic perfumes.
Phthalates – Based on studies, phthalates are considered “endocrine disruptors“. It decreases IQ in babies when mothers are exposed to phthalates during their pregnancy. Studies have also found that phthalates are closely linked to sperm damage in adult men. Besides, they affect metabolism and promote obesity, making them known as “obesogens”.
Styrene – In 2011, styrene was declared a “human carcinogen” by the National Academy of Science and National Toxicology Program.
Benzaldehyde – benzaldehyde is considered a narcotic, which can cause lung and eye irritation.
Musk ketone – As per Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports, musk ketone is a possible carcinogen and immune-system disruptor, including allergies and sensitization.
Benzyl acetate – may cause lung and eye irritation along with coughing.
Ethyl acetate – may trigger respiratory and eye irritation.
Camphor – has neurotoxic effects and causes convulsions, muscle twitching, dizziness, nausea, and confusion.
Methylene chloride – FDA banned this ingredient due to its severe toxicity in human bodies, but the ban hasn’t been properly enforced yet.
I’m all about watching what I put in my mouth but the journey to clean beauty was a bumpy ride, I received the “Ascent To Prosperity Imbued With Green Aventurine” as a gift for my birthday and it really hits the spot. Ascention Parfums, will delight the Perfumista or Scent-Tok Devotee in your life. I thought I would have to be buried with my Creed Sublime Vanilla.
“Greta Fitz is a visionary leader with over two decades of experience building and growing renowned global brands in the beauty industry. Having made significant contributions to major designer, high fashion, lifestyle and indie beauty brands throughout her career, at L'Oréal, Coty, Shiseido and Clarins, she has a deep understanding of brand development, strategy and a knack for disrupting industries and markets. She is widely recognized for her pioneering work in the fragrance industry, particularly with the creation of Clean Reserve.
Driven by her own wellness journey, Greta embarked on a personal quest to explore the profound impact of scent on emotions and well-being. Drawing upon her expertise in clean beauty and her belief in the power of scent therapy, she discovered how scent can elevate the mind and provide solace during times of stress. Greta also recognized the empowering qualities of healing crystals and their ability to amplify positive intentions.
Motivated by a desire to bridge the gap between fragrance and wellness, Greta founded ASCENTION in 2018, a whole new beauty category she refers to as "Wellness Fragrance." With ASCENTION, Greta aims to fill a void in the premium market by offering luxurious products that harness the power of scent to promote emotional well-being. Her brand encompasses the essence of balanced mindsets, manifestation, and the importance of living a healthy and abundant life.”

Stocking stuffers:
Growing up my mom always knocked it out of the park with the stockings, we had ginormous ones my step-grandma handmade and she stuffed them. A lot of our stockings were new essentials, fun nail polish, a new hairbrush, or the travel sized row at Harmon. The stockings are HUGE. Let’s get your essentials refreshed for the new year.
Switch your loved one’s toothpaste to something with nanohydroxyapatite and cotton floss.
Direct Deposit (Biomimetic): Hydroxyapatite is the primary natural mineral (97%) that makes up your tooth enamel. The "nano" particles are synthetic versions that are small enough to physically penetrate and integrate directly into the microscopic cracks and pores of demineralized enamel and dentin.

Using a floss with natural fiber strands can sometimes provide a better "scrubbing" action against the tooth surface along with exposing you to less microplastics
Books make a great gift…
“I always give books. And I always ask for books. I think you should reward people sexually for getting you books. Don’t send a thank-you note, repay them with sexual activity. If the book is rare or by your favorite author or one you didn't know about, reward them with the most perverted sex act you can think of. Otherwise, you can just make out.”

For My Sustainable Crafters
Once upon a time I ambitiously made everyone I loved body butter. I sourced only glass jars and BPA free plastic containers graded for baby food. EVERYTHING was organic. It was a true labor of love and I still make one or two batches a year to share with the initiated few in my life. Our skin is your body’s largest organ and by being mindful of what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put inside them. I hope you love this recipe as much as all my friends and family do!
