Title IX- A Tale of Purpose and Protection

Throughout all of this female athletes are being forced to constantly acknowledge how much bigger and stronger people born male are. No one is protecting female athletes and the way we’re being pushed aside for universities to get attention is illogically

Politics is Hollywood for ugly people and I hold no idols in either realm. Like many problems we encounter during our earthly existence I believe this is about money, power, and control. I am a second generation female collegiate athlete— if St. Johns had a women’s basketball prior to 1974 I could be third generation. Title IX has held the hand of my mother and myself who were lucky enough to have the camaraderie of teammates and a passion we could dedicate our spare time to. The evolution of the legislation and direction of the narrative is overly gender oriented as many boys on my high school team couldn’t keep up with me.
